Gallery is pleased to present Slow Hunch, a group exhibition featuring Jim Gaylord, Will Duty, Tamara Zahaykevich, Michael Dotson and Colin Snapp. The exhibition includes works on paper, paintings, sculpture and video.

A term coined by science author and media theorist Steven Johnson, a slow hunch is the notion that innovative thinking is a slow and gradual process rather than an instant moment of inspiration. Respectively, the works in the show invite an unhurried response. Although they may appear opaque initially, they reveal subtleties, nuances and clues over time.

The exhibition includes Jim Gaylord’s cutout collages, Will Duty’s painting and drawing, Tamara Zahaykevich’s sculptures, Michael Dotson’s paintings and a video by Colin Snapp.

Jim Gaylord has had two solo exhibitions at the gallery and his work has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Weatherspoon Art Museum (NC) ,The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (NY) and Gregory Lind Gallery (CA).

Will Duty had his third solo exhibition at the gallery in 2012. His work has been exhibited at The Drawing Center (NY), The Weatherspoon Art Museum (NC) and the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery (NY).

Tamara Zahaykevich’s most recent solo exhibition was at Kansas Gallery (NY) and her work was included in New. New York at the Essl Museum, Vienna, AT earlier this year.

Michael Dotson’s work has been exhibited at numerous venues, including DCKT Gallery (NY), Geoffrey Young Gallery (MA) and Nudashank Gallery (MD).

Colin Snapp’s work has been exhibited at the Journal Gallery (NY), Ibid Projects, London, UK and many other venues.
