Antoine Roegiers' video installation, part of the exhibition Prints in the Age of Bruegel, is a vertiginous dive into Pieter Bruegel's The Seven Deadly Sins (1558): pride, lust, gluttony, envy, laziness, greed, and anger.

Roegiers draws inspiration freely from the master's pen and brown ink drawings. Despite their moralistic tendency, their content is of a constant inventiveness and a surprising poetry. Men, women, animals, demons, metamorphosed creatures, hybrid figures, giants and whimsical architectures coexist in a delirious and perfect harmony. In addition to the poetry, creativity and beauty of Bruegel's drawings, it is the representation of space that also interests the artist.

Roegiers appropriates each element of Bruegel's drawings, redrawing them meticulously with pen and ink on paper. These drawings represent the very matter of his animated film: body pieces, empty sets, landscapes ...
