Marie Ducaté (born in Lille in 1954, lives and works in Marseille) is a versatile artist who has been active since the 1980s. Initially trained as a painter, she now works in a variety of artistic mediums, from ceramics to glass, drawing, and textiles, to create a comprehensive body of work.

At the Musée Ariana, the artist transposes the spirit and clues around the layout of his studio. The space hosts a theater of ceramic, tracing paper, watercolor, textile and glass objects, at the crossroads of pop culture and art history.

His colorful world is highlighted by a selection of works that play on a broad chromatic palette , from bright colors to transparency.

With the exhibition Simultanés, Marie Ducaté invites us to explore the sensuality of materials, always keeping that free and curious spirit in mind.
