This is the title of painter Laima Eglīte's exhibition because it displays a pair of paintings from each decade since Laima has been painting. Thus - the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s of the 20th century and the 2010s and 2020s of the 21st century. In other words, half a century in painting.
Her main model are children and mimes, as well as friends and the children of friends. Essentially, Laima paints her own life - what she sees, feels and experiences, what happens around her and to her. Nothing superficial or invented. Pantomime and movement theatre meant a great deal to Laima Eglite, therefore body language and gesture are her means of expression not only on stage but also in her painting.
The exhibition Retrospective and the album of Laima Eglite's paintings were created with the support of entepreneur and art patron Māris Martinsons. On 17 March at 16:00 it will be possible to receive the book with Laima Eglite's autograph.
