The Langen Foundation was founded by Viktor and Marianne Langen, who over decades assembled an extensive collection of East Asian art. Their goal was to create a place where art, architecture, and landscape could enter into a dialogue and be experienced by visitors. The idea for the Langen Foundation emerged in close collaboration with Karl Heinrich Müller, who shaped the vision of an open cultural space in Hombroich – a place where art, architecture, and landscape could be experienced in harmony.
