Founded in the 1970s by Emilio Mazzoli, Galleria Mazzoli represents some of the most important artists of the last decades, such as Mario Schifano, Alighiero Boetti, Gino De Dominicis, Sandro Chia, Mimmo Paladino, Giuseppe Gallo. In 1981 the gallery held the world´s first solo exhibition of Jean Michel Basquiat, and later it continued making a mark on the Italian scene introducing American artists such as Robert Longo, Alex Katz, Peter Halley, David Salle, Annette Lemieux and William Anastasi, while always keeping an eye on the younger generation. In 2009 Mario Mazzoli opened a new space in Berlin.
