Igor Micunovic

Dr. Igor Micunovic is well known writer and author and host of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) podcast.

His main interests are holistic health, spirituality, body-soul-mind transformation, wellness, fitness and natural treatments.

Dr Igor Micunovic is an internationally known specialist in integrative medicine, energy medicine and personal transformation. He works in a world-renowned Chenot clinic, helping people to become the best version of themselves, to detox and rejuvenate, and to reset the body at the cellular level. He is an acupuncture specialist and serves as a Breathing therapy instructor as well.

He is a lifelong student of traditional Chinese medicine, Chinese culture and the Chinese language and often takes part in national and international conferences on Chinese language & culture and traditional Chinese medicine topics. At the moment he investigates the benefits of learning the Chinese language on cognitive and mental health. He practises Chinese calligraphy and actively researches the Ba-Zi astrological system, hoping to achieve the Wu-Wei concept of living.

He is an ideas brainstormer and he questions social paradigmas and institutional dogmas. He researches and publishes articles on history, science and culture as well, in particular lately about Proto-Slavic and Russian culture.

Dr Igor Micunovic is a well-known name in traditional Chinese medicine. He is a board member of the World federation of Chinese medicine societies (WFCMS) and a member of the World federation of acupuncture-moxibustion societies (WFAS). Dr. Igor Micunovic is president of the Association of Acupuncturists of Montenegro (AAM) and program director of acupuncture education in Montenegro within AAM.

Dr Micunovic is the recipient of a prestigious China Scholarship Council full bachelor scholarship, a PhD/postdoc fellowship, a Yugoslavia University scholarship, and a Montenegro government award. He studied at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, P.R. China, where he obtained a bachelor of medicine and a doctor of medicine degree (Ph.D.), with a minor in acupuncture and moxibustion. Afterwards, he finished post-doc research in clinical acupuncture at Tianjin University of TCM First Teaching Hospital as a P.R. China government scholarship council student.

His devotion to body-soul-mind life-changing transformation started at a young age as a yoga scholar of age of 16. Before he obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of Sports and PE in Pristina, Yugoslavia he already finished several non-institutional courses at the time, e.g. TM meditation and Hatha yoga beginner and advance course.

He acquired necessary clinical skills during his studies in Serbia at the Medical University in Kragujevac, Serbia, where he earned an MMSci (Master of Medical Sciences) with a minor in sports medicine, especially within the frame of kinesiotherapy and athlete rehabilitation.

He practises his beliefs with the intention of being a role model. He is an active Qigong practitioner and instructor and a certified 500-h yoga instructor. Dr Micunovic is the co-author of two books and numerous articles published in several magazines, including Meer.

Born in former Yugoslavia. His young years were spent in Serbia, Montenegro and Kosovo. His later years spent mostly in China and Russia, and several years now he lives in Montenegro.

Having witnessed social turbulences, regime changes and wars in former Yugoslavia and having had the opportunity to live, study and work in different countries in Europe and Asia shaped his unique mindset to see social movements and various phenomena in a different view than many and kept him from being attached to any at the same time.

Dr Igor Micunovic has more than 20 years of clinical experience in traditional Chinese medicine, sports medicine, and wellness and has spent the better part of the past 25 years in China pursuing the mastery and refinement of traditional Chinese medicine.

He has great professional educational and clinical experience and notable posts within clinics in P.R. China, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, e.g., Tianjin University of TCM First Teaching Hospital, Yin Yang Acupuncture and Tuina Center – Hotel Splendid, Aman Resort Sveti Stefan and University Center in Kragujevac, to mention a few.

Currently, Dr Micunovic holds the post of energetic doctor at the Chenot Espace clinic at One&Only PortoNovi in Montenegro.
