Nour Fersi is a journalist, born and raised in North Africa, Sfax, Tunisia. He is an award-winning journalist specialising in investigative journalism, with expertise in geopolitics, economics, and human rights. He has held several positions in the media industry. He is also passionate about history, cinema, the entertainment industry, existentialist novels, and philosophy.

Since childhood, he has had a passion for reading fiction books on a variety of subjects and spending time watching movies of all genres. This cultivated a vivid imagination that led him to start writing at a young age, winning several regional awards for his short stories.

With a bachelor’s degree in literature, he moved to Tunis to study journalism at the Institute of Press and Information Sciences for three years. Those years away from his family helped him discover what he truly wanted and enjoyed. He spent a lot of time exploring topics that piqued his interest, such as human nature, reading existentialist novels, and watching films focused on human life. He loved American country music, jazz, and rock and roll. Alongside this, he had many historical questions and spent each day digging deeper into them.

Because of his love for cinema, he co-founded Let's Watch with a colleague during his studies, a magazine covering news about the international film and television industry. It featured articles, graphics, news videos, and interviews with both national and international directors and producers.

After earning his license in journalism, he felt a bit hesitant about what to do next. One day, during the summer holidays, he was watching documentaries about the “Bacha bazi” phenomenon in Afghanistan and how children were exploited for sexual purposes. This subject left a deep and saddening impact on him, and it was at that moment he decided to pursue a master’s degree in investigative journalism and begin a career in this field, dedicated to uncovering hidden truths.

He started cooperating with the investigative unit of Al-Qatiba digital magazine, producing several investigative articles over months of hard work, uncovering corruption, money laundering, and conflicts of interest. His articles brought about change, leading people to be held accountable and submit to justice. Along the way, he received various awards for his work.

Working as an investigative journalist has deeply shaped his understanding of humanity. Meeting people from different backgrounds, hearing victims share their painful stories, and witnessing injustice firsthand have strengthened his determination to help. With each story he uncovers, his commitment to human rights and justice grows, driving him to use his work to make a real difference.

Meeting those responsible was just as essential as meeting the victims, giving them the opportunity to defend themselves and share their perspective. This phase in investigative journalism, known as confrontation, is as much a moral obligation as it is a technical one. During this time, he encountered corrupt police officers, dishonest businessmen, unethical journalists, and even judges. He understood how crucial, yet difficult and sometimes dangerous, this step could be. To help fellow journalists navigate it, he created a guide on confrontation in investigative journalism, covering the preparation, execution, and follow-up stages, both ethically and technically.

Besides this, he wrote for different newspapers and magazines on various subjects, gaining diverse experiences throughout his career. Currently, he is working as a digital journalist for Alaraby TV, a Qatar-based news channel focused on political and economic news, as well as covering wars and conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and other regions across the world.

At the same time, he has always enjoyed traveling, discovering different places and cultures, as well as exploring the traditional music, literature, cinema, and museums of each country. He has visited places like Russia, Jordan, Turkey, France, and Morocco, meeting new people and living new stories throughout his journeys.
