To celebrate the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, taking place from 6 to 22 February 2026, the Olympic Museum has created a special trail in its permanent exhibition, park and public spaces. This trail showcases the unique features of Milano Cortina 2026, while paying tribute to Italy’s rich Olympic history and achievements.
Visitors will discover the biggest moments in Italian sport, from antiquity to the present day, through a selection of iconic Italian objects. Among the must-see highlights are the official Milano Cortina 2026 torch, mascot and medals, displayed in the museum’s Art Lounge, which connect the past to the future of the Olympic Winter Games.
The trail begins outside the Museum walls, in the heart of the Olympic Park. Among the 97 steps of its grand stairway and 41 sculptures, visitors are invited to discover iconic photographs from the four Olympic Games held in Italy—Cortina d’Ampezzo 1956, Rome 1960, Torino 2006 and Milano Cortina 2026 —alongside some of their most inspiring stories.
After passing through the Milano Cortina 2026-branded gates at the main entrance, the journey continues inside the Museum. In the main hall, a striking digital art installation and short film set the tone for what lies ahead.
The trail extends across the two floors of the permanent exhibition, where a spotlight is placed on artefacts related to Italian athletes and Italy’s Olympic legacy. It culminates on Level -1, in the Art Lounge, where visitors can view the official torch, mascots, and (at a later stage) the medals of Milano Cortina 2026.
