International Symposium of Sculptors Forma viva 2025 will see two new sculptures, by Lucija Jelić (Zadar) and Nina Tovornik (Ljubljana).
One of the greatest visual manifestations in our recent history, the International Symposium of Sculptors Forma viva, will take place for the 30th time in 2025 at the Kostanjevica na Krki worksite.
Forma viva was conceived as a unifying brand of national significance, operating first at two worksites, in Kostanjevica na Krki and Seča near Portorož, and later expanding to Ravne na Koroškem and Maribor. In 2024, Galerija Božidar Jakac announced an international call for artists, and based on that two sculptors (Lucija Jelić and Nina Tovornik) were selected to make new pieces for the sculpture park in Kostanjevica na Krki. In addition, two important and iconic sculptures in the park, Taizo Murakami’s Slovenian sun (1970) and Dušan Tršar’s iconic sculpture Untitled (1972), will be undergoing protective interventions, under the supervision of the artist and the restaurateur Aleš Vene.
