On Saturday, July 12th, Wally Workman Gallery will open their 12th solo show with figurative painter Patrick Puckett. Known for his assertive brush strokes and bold colors, Puckett creates commanding work. His figures may be physically at rest, but their environment is quite alive. The vibrance of their setting, and their direct eye contact allude to an inner energy and confidence. All of the figures in Puckett’s paintings are unapologetically sure of themselves, just like the technique he employs.
Studying under professor James Meade at the University of Southern Mississippi, Patrick Puckett received his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art in 2002. Puckett's paintings are visual inventions culled from a life lived in the South. He lives and works in Jackson, MS.
Established in 1980 and located in a 120 year old historic house, the Wally Workman Gallery specializes in emerging and collected talent.
