ACM and me is an exciting new space at the museum, where young explorers can play, create, and celebrate what makes us unique! With fun, hands-on activities for children (and the young at heart), every visit promises new discoveries.

Suitable for ages 4 and above. Children under 12 must be supervised.

Who am I?

Get crafty in this hands-on zone that’s all about you! Stamp and create a self-portrait that celebrates who you are, then add it to our community wall. Express your creativity at the magnetic mirror — mix, match, and accessorise your reflection with fun motifs.

What's my story?

Create your own fantastical creature using colourful pieces shaped like wings, paws, tails and more. Shine your creation on an overhead projector and tell its story. Don’t forget to visit the galleries and see how many fantastic creatures you can find.

There’s more! Add colour to scenes inspired by the Hong bowl on display in the Maritime Trade Gallery. Then spin your artwork and watch the drawings come alive, like in early animation.

What can I create?

Want to build a castle or make your own fort? Stack, climb, and create with soft oversized blocks for open-ended fun in our cosy play space. Then, dance like no one’s watching in a magical space with colourful lights and music.

Feeling happy, calm, or curious? Choose a colourful strip of fabric that matches your mood and weave it into our community wall. Made from old clothes and new memories, this growing tapestry is a space for sharing, feeling, and snapping one last photo before you head off to explore the rest of the museum.
