Exhibition highlights

  • The ten-foot-tall Thomas Cooke telescope, used in the 1880s to help figure out the distance from Earth to the Sun.

  • The Hitchbot, which successfully hitchhiked solo across Canada in 2014.

  • A 1961 Amphicar—the only amphibious vehicle ever created for the consumer market.

  • A massive Fresnel lens, often used in lighthouses, along with an interactive showing the signals used at four Canadian lighthouses.

  • Fun and games from the mid-20th century, including a 1936 Wurlitzer jukebox and a Williams pinball machine from 1960.
