Peter Struycken’s (b. 1939, The Hague) 2007 installation for the Coop Himmelb(l)au Pavilion, based on the French composer Pierre Boulez’s musical work …explosante-fixe…, goes on view again this year for the first time.
Five large screens scattered through the darkened gallery take visitors on a journey full of changing colours and forms, by turns intense and serene. The work is being shown alternately with a new installation based on Alexander Scriabin’s dramatic symphony Prometheus: The Poem of Fire.
