The Kunsthalle’s department of prints and drawings owns four of the six drawings by Leonardo da Vinci held in Germany. On occasion of this year’s 500th anniversary of his death, the Kunsthalle is presenting the four fascinating sheets created by the universal genius, together with other works.

The drawings belong to the property of the art dealer Georg Ernst Harzen (1790-1863). By his will, his collection went to the newly opened Kunsthalle in 1869.

The presentation takes place in the context of the 150th anniversary of the Hamburger Kunsthalle.
