Bringing together landmark works of post-war art, long-time visitor favorites, and recent acquisitions, this iteration of Selections from the Permanent Collection highlights the depth and breadth of artworks from MOCA’s renowned holdings of over 7,000 objects.

The exhibition on display at MOCA Grand Avenue showcases a wide range of media and provides surprising and novel juxtapositions, with groupings based on theme, style, method, period, or large-scale installations by an individual artist. This new installation of MOCA’s deep and ever-growing collection invites viewers to consider innovative retellings of the history of art, as well as explore the ways artists respond to recent historical and political events.

Selections from the Permanent Collection includes works by historical figures such as John Chamberlain, Dan Flavin, Franz Kline, Lee Krasner, Joan Miro, Claes Oldenburg, Robert Rauschenberg, Mark Rothko, and Andy Warhol, as well as more recent works by Thomas Hirschhorn and many others.
