Bernier-Eliades Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of new works by the American artist Edy Ferguson, on Thursday, May 30, 20:00 - 22:00. This exhibition entitled “Conspiracy Theory”, will feature scultpure, drawing, painting, photograph and installation. The artist will attend the opening.

Edy Fergusons’s (Chicago, USA) practice spans a wide range of materials and media such as video, drawing, collage, sculpture, photography, performance. The range of skills of the artist, the freedom to use a wide range of media and the attitude towards performance as a means of expression, make her work interesting, comprehensive and very attractive.

Her work makes clear allusions to “high” and “low” culture, drawing inspiration from cinema iconography or the world of rock music. Ferguson raises important and critical questions on the role of emotions in artistic creations, on the liberating power emitted by images and music and the coexistence of multiple and contradictory views in our experiences of reality.

In this exhibition, the artist will present a series of photographs, collages, and installation showcasing the artistic vision, with all its manifestations, sensitivity and energy it emits.

Ferguson lives and works between London, New York and Athens. In 1988 she received a BFA from Washington University in St. Louis. In 1996 she obtained her Master’s in painting, cinema, video installation from Hunter College in New York. She has exhibited internationally in France, Switzerland, Austria, Venezuela, Greece and the USA. Solo exhibitions include: retrospective at the Centre D'Art Contemporain, Geneva, 2012, a retrospective exhibition at the Benaki Museum, Athens, 2012. Her works have been included in the 2nd Biennial Mardin, Turkey, Weiner Art Foundation and the Onassis Cultural Centre, Athens.
