For the Dallas Art Fair 2015 Jessica Silverman Gallery will present a group booth featuring works by Dashiell Manley, Ruairiadh O’Connell and Ian Wallace. The curated exhibition will focus on artworks that call to mind the historic notion of "working in layers," a term used in 15th century oil painting from primer to varnish. The works explore new processes of layering, taking the earlier concept into new experimental terrains.

Dashiell Manley (b.1983 Fontana, California) received his BA from CalArts and his MFA from UCLA. His work is in the collections of LACMA and the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles. He has exhibited in the Whitney and Hammer Biennials as well as group shows in New York, Sydney, Turin, Vienna, Houston, and Curitiba, Brazil. Earlier this year he had his second solo exhibition with the Jessica Silverman Gallery. Manley lives and works in Los Angeles.

Ruairiadh O’Connell (b.1983 Aberdeen, Scotland) attended the Städelschule in Frankfurt. In 2014 he had a solo exhibition at Jessica Silverman Gallery and his work has been shown at Project Number (London), Landings (Oslo), Mark and Kyoko (Berlin), and Laura Bartlett Gallery (London). He lives and works in London.

Ian Wallace (b.1943) has exhibited internationally and his work can be found in many prominent collections including MOCA (Los Angeles), Reina Sophia (Madrid), National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), Vancouver Art Gallery, and the Centre Pompidou (Paris). In 2014 he was awarded the "Chevalier de L'ordre des Arts et des Lettres" by the French Ministry of Culture. He has an upcoming solo show at Jessica Silverman Gallery, opening April 24, 2015.
