The Roaring Twenties to the end of the 1940’s is a period in time, which captivates designer Emma Greenhill’s vivid imagination. Women had found their voice; it was a time filled with glamour, decadence, dark humor, courage and daring - a ‘Brave New World’ in which the Flapper and the Femme Fatale were both born.

The books, which truly bring this time to life in Emma’s mind were Put Out More Flags & Vile Bodies by Evelyn Waugh, Pigeon Pie by Nancy Mitford, Tender Is the Night & The Gatsby Girls by F. Scott Fitzgerald and The Collected Dorothy Parker by Dorothy Parker.

Added to this, is The Complete Nonsense of Edward Lear, which inspired her to create a couple of her own poems for the collection. Vintage Kenzo and the artists Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso and contemporary art from Frieze are also in the mix.

This collection danced in Emma Greenhill’s mind and putting it together was something she really enjoyed, pushing herself to draw more and work on different colour stories. What comes together is the designer’s sense of fun, colour and pattern.
