Bruno David is pleased to present Alchemy – A brush with the universal, a solo exhibition of new paintings by St. Louis-based artist Frank Schwaiger.

Now 86 years old, Schwaiger is presenting his eighth solo exhibition with the gallery. This latest body of work deepens his ongoing fascination with the geometries that construct and govern our world. By painting vivid realms of color, Schwaiger seeks out the universal essence of life. He approaches this creation as a spiritual act meant to spark inner transformation, inviting audiences to experience the pure joy of his art.

Frank Schwaiger’s work has been widely exhibited throughout his extensive career. He is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis's School of Architecture and taught there for 11 years (now the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts) and received his Master's degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, where he worked alongside visionary Buckminster Fuller. He lives and works in St. Louis and serves as the director of the Columbia Foundation for the Arts, St. Louis, MO. In conjunction with the exhibition, Bruno David Gallery will publish a comprehensive catalogue of the artist’s work, featuring an in-depth exhibition history and bibliography.
