For the first time in Romania, masterpieces from the collection of the Musée Picasso, Antibes come to Timișoara.

From 17 September 2026 to 17 January 2027, Art Encounters presents Picasso en visite, an exhibition organised in partnership with the Musée Picasso, Antibes, bringing together 69 works by Pablo Picasso—paintings, drawings, prints, lithographs and ceramics—presented in Romania for the first time.

The exhibition invites visitors to discover a pivotal chapter in Pablo Picasso's artistic practice: his time in Antibes in 1946, when he began working in the Château Grimaldi. The light of the Mediterranean, nature, mythology and the freedom to experiment opened up a new visual universe, reflected in an exceptional selection of paintings, drawings, prints and ceramics.

Drawn from the collection of the Musée Picasso, Antibes—the first museum in the world dedicated to Pablo Picasso's work—Picasso en visite brings to Timișoara works that reveal the relationship between the artist, a place, and the creative process, in an exhibition presented at the new Art Encounters space.
