The exhibition Playground invites children to touch, climb, run and imagine in an otherworldly landscape by the artist Sonia Kazovsky. Installed in K20’s largest exhibition hall, this site-specific artwork approaches play as an artistic, sensory, and relational experience. In Playground, children and their caregivers can wear transformative props and costumes, roll down a vast desert hill, gather around a bonfire, and swing on an upturned street light. Playground re-centers children as a core audience of art museums and offers a shared space for imagination.

Conceived as an immersive environment, the exhibition encourages visitors of all ages to engage with art through movement, exploration, and collaborative play. Kazovsky’s installation transforms the museum into a dynamic landscape where everyday expectations are suspended, inviting participants to discover new ways of interacting with one another and with their surroundings through curiosity and creativity.

By placing children at the heart of the museum experience, Playground challenges traditional notions of spectatorship and participation. The exhibition celebrates the power of imagination as a shared activity, demonstrating how play can become a meaningful form of artistic expression that fosters connection, experimentation, and a renewed sense of wonder.
