This second exhibition at the pop-up space in Nijmegen brings together works by Cindy Bakker, Rotteveel Vermeer, and Henk Wildschut. Titled Encounter, it explores different ways of observing, constructing, and reimagining reality. Through distinct artistic approaches, the exhibition creates a space in which perception becomes fluid and familiar narratives are reconsidered through image, form, and context.
Bringing these three practices into dialogue, Encounter highlights both their differences and points of convergence. Each artist engages with the visible world through specific visual strategies, yet together their works open broader reflections on representation, interpretation, and the relationship between experience and image. The exhibition unfolds as a series of visual exchanges in which meaning emerges through proximity and encounter rather than through a fixed narrative.
At the core of the project is an interest in how realities are shaped, mediated, and transformed. Moving between documentation and invention, observation and construction, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the unstable boundaries between what is seen and what is imagined. Encounter ultimately proposes an open field of relations where multiple perspectives coexist and generate new ways of understanding the world around us.
