The Federal prize for art students honors young artists and university graduates whose latest works will once again be on display at the Bundeskunsthalle. The 27th edition of the competition recognizes a total of seven artistic positions, which were selected at the beginning of this year by an independent jury from nominations submitted by 25 art colleges throughout Germany.
The students will share prize money of €30,000 and receive a production grant that will allow them to create entirely new art. The exhibition will feature works on themes such as the relationship between humans and flora and fauna, vulnerability, care, and ethnic origin, executed in a wide variety of media. In addition to installations and new media like film and rendering, the students will also present sculptural works, paintings, graphics, and woven textiles.
