Les Douches la Galerie is pleased to announce, on the occasion of the inauguration of its new space in Le Marais, at 54 rue Chapon, a first exhibition dedicated of the Spanish artist duo Angel Albarrán and Anna Cabrera, whom the gallery is now representing.

A source of inspiration or an almost otherworldly setting, nature always occupies a central place in the images of Albarrán Cabrera, who, like painters, combine a singular balance of color with an exceptional mastery of printing techniques which has now become one of their trademarks.

Far from idealizing nature, the Spanish artist duo Angel Albarrán and Anna Cabrera seek to magnify what already exists, taking us on a unique chromatic journey that only they could invent. Their images go beyond the documentation of the visible; they deconstruct fragments of reality, inviting viewers to reinterpret them through their own memories. For them, photography evokes and suggests, encouraging reflection and questioning. This contemplative quality lies at the heart of their work.

The printing process is also an essential part of their artistic expression. Albarrán Cabrera experiment with a variety of techniques such as platinum and palladium printing, cyanotype, silver gelatin, pigment print, glass plates, and more, combining or editing them while working with diverse supports. They also develop new reproduction methods that enhance the tones, textures, and luminosity of their prints, enriching the experience of their physical pieces.

Finally, they draw from literature and science to craft a photographic oeuvre that is powerfully evocative and dreamlike.

This exhibition, Songes chromatiques, inaugurates the new Les Douches la Galerie space in the heart of Le Marais at 54, rue Chapon. It is accompanied by a publication, Ventanas a lo insólito (Windows onto the unusual), to be released in November.
