I am a writer, researcher, and educator. My opinions have always been a topic for debate, and I have done everything possible to encourage it. Reading should not be a passive experience; it should create mental chaos. If the writer hasn’t forced you to confront your ideologies, you haven’t fully consumed what that polite person meant to say. Whether it’s a technical manual, a poetic narrative, or an opinion, I try to seek precision in everything I do (sometimes it all goes downhill too).

I am an Indian living in Canada. I proudly say that my culture and ethnicity have shaped me into the person I am today. India is another name for richness. It is all about its colours, food, hospitality, spirituality, culture, and above all—the people! My country is loud, enchanting, and a million other adjectives that define beauty that can be felt. We celebrate at least one festival every month, and every occasion calls for a grand celebration.

You’ll find my words mature, but you’ll definitely question my behaviour. I was born in 1997, a very thin stitch between the Millennial and Gen Z timelines. I have always been a “glass-half-full” kind of person and will take anything and everything that comes my way on a positive note (it took some time to reach here, but this should definitely be mentioned).

I write poems when I’m overwhelmed with emotions, and my work has been written during my darkest days. I aspire to travel the world with only a backpack on my shoulder filled with diaries that talk about my travels. I also believe witches are real and wish to meet one someday. One more thing! I’m absolutely certain that I would be an excellent choice to play Rory Gilmore’s daughter in the Gilmore Girls’ spin-off. EXCELLENT CHOICE!

I learned early on that I can ask as many questions, and that’s exactly what I do when I write. I write poetic verses for myself and long-form articles for my readers. As an immigrant, I take inspiration from the different cultures, histories, and experiences of the people living in this country. I cherish the quaint rhythms of small-town life: the warm yellow glow of streetlights at dusk, cozy cafes, independent bookstores, and small talks while crossing streets.

Recently, an Instagram post defined me in a single line: “At first I’m shy, then I’m a podcast.” I am a person who has chased sunsets and the Aurora Borealis on foot. I can talk about books for hours and discuss Taylor Swift lyrics day and night. Experiences that can send my mother into a frenzy excite me and mind you, I have been lost on Canadian trails several times (trust me, it was worse than it sounds).

What to expect from me? I write about cultures, the dance of science & art, and entertainment. I am a huge movie buff and love to watch horror movies. My favourites include The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Other Side of the Door, and Mother! The first book I ever picked was my mom’s book of folklore stories in Gujarati, and that’s how I learned to read in my mother tongue. I have enjoyed reading the works of Dostoevsky, Jane Austen, Khaled Hosseini, Amrita Pritam, Arundhati Roy, and Amitav Ghosh. I even followed the journey of Che Guevara while doing my master's and ended up presenting a paper about him.

I had set out to study literature but instead found myself navigating the world of business writing, working with software businesses, and specializing in areas such as API documentation, UX research, and copywriting. This unanticipated detour into technical writing has really improved my creative approach. The accuracy of technical writing—where every word counts and every instruction must be clear—has helped me understand the complexities of life and present them to my readers in a clear and concise manner.

In addition to writing, I’m passionate about teaching. I currently teach English at a private institution in Canada. This job has taught me patience. It is one thing to stand in front of a crowd and inform, but to educate is a challenge. I come from a community that had a hard time accessing education. Not everyone has had the right to read and write, and therefore, I call myself privileged to have received the best possible education, for I am able to educate today.

Every day is a new exploration. I aspire to inform and become a change-maker through my writing. I believe every person is a living idea, and you should stir the waters if you find the right tools. Through my work, I wish to reach millions with voices that have been oppressed and ideas that were waved off. Through this space at Meer, I would be presenting my experiences and interactions, and I hope to ignite conversations that keep burning for generations
