I was born in Karachi, Pakistan. My journey is shaped by a city that often makes headlines for its complexities, layered with political unrest and a chaotic past. Even today, Karachi suffers, and more than suffering, it endures—overpopulation, underfunding, violence, neglect, etc. However, despite the calamities, the city is irrepressible. Karachi is Pakistan’s beating heart, driving the entire country forward on fragile shoulders and welcoming everyone into its cultural melting pot. For me, Karachi is more than just a city; it is a resilient character in my life story. It nurtures and fuels my passion for politics, humanity, and, more than anything else, writing.

My desire to write is intricately linked to my sense of place and identity. For me, writing is more than just a medium for self-expression; it is a tool for introspection. It aids in transcending time and space, allowing communication to surpass generations and cultures. Owing to the complex city that birthed me, writing assists me in dissecting the contradictory systems that structure the world around us. I use writing as a medium to translate my understanding of the cultural, political, and economic realms into something relatable and accessible.

I am a recent master’s graduate in history and economics from Universität Bayreuth. I view my interdisciplinary education as a superpower. My knowledge of history has provided me with deep insight into politics and culture, whereas my education in economics has armed me with data analysis and statistical training that allow me to interpret large datasets and consequently deliver factual reporting. Furthermore, I hold a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and History from Cardiff University, which adds creativity to my writing and nurtures the ability to articulate complex matters into comprehensible information.

My interest in exploring South Asian and European history, as well as current affairs and international relations, has led to my recent publication in Brown History, a popular digital history magazine. My essay, "A Retrospective View on Religious Pluralism in South Asia," delves into the complexities of religious coexistence, offering readers an insightful view of the region’s socio-political landscape.

In addition to my work in cultural and historical analysis, I have also been part of academic projects. I served as an editorial assistant on a published research project studying sentiment analysis of German texts in finance, an opportunity that allowed me to polish my skills in research, data interpretation, and academic writing. Currently, I am an aspiring journalist seeking roles in finance and political journalism. My interest in journalism is fueled by my academic career and my determination to use my writing to inspire a better world. Additionally, I find the fast-paced and dynamic setting of the newsroom absolutely thrilling.

During my bachelor’s degree, I was honored with the opportunity to undertake an internship as a news editor at Dawn Media Group, one of Pakistan’s leading news organizations. Working alongside brilliant individuals who operated with such precision and grace inspired me to envision a similar career path for myself. Since then, I have been educating myself on digital publishing by pursuing editorial roles focusing on community outreach, social media management, and content creation.

In this space, my aim is to delve into the complexities of our world, offering readers thought-provoking insights on a range of vital topics. My primary interests lie in exploring the historical and modern impacts of colonialism, examining the ever-evolving quest for gender equality, and fostering understanding of cultural and religious diversity. These are not merely academic subjects but issues that shape societies and individual lives. By dissecting these subjects through a socio-economic lens, I strive to shed light on how government policies influence everyday realities, especially in contexts that might often be overlooked or misunderstood.
