Sake and a dream: artists’ exploration of bobu brings a beloved character to life in eleven original works by international artists from the digital and traditional art worlds. Opening September 12, 2025 at Zepster Gallery in Brooklyn, the exhibition offers an immersive experience celebrating anime, sake, and Bobu the Bean Farmer, a humble sake-loving character inspired by Japanese culture and the decentralized anime world of Azuki.
Curated by J, co-founder of League Oto, in his first solo curatorial project, the show merges digital and traditional art with storytelling, presenting paintings and sculptures that capture Bobu’s adventurous and playful personality. Each work reflects the artist’s interpretation while honoring Bobu’s lore and charm.
Artist support is a core goal: all artists have been paid upfront, reducing pressure to sell and allowing them to focus on creating their best work. Each piece also has a digital print version for sale and is viewable in a virtual gallery, giving collectors worldwide multiple ways to engage and support the artists.
All artworks are sold at cost, with proceeds after expenses directed toward future creative projects. Each piece is integrated with Physical Backed Token (PBT) technology for secure digital authentication and limited edition digital prints will also be available to mint. Proceeds from the digital mints will fund upcoming community initiatives.
