The Gardiner Museum is celebrating its 40th anniversary! To mark this special occasion, the Museum invited members of the Gardiner community to co-curate an exhibition highlighting favorite objects from its permanent collection. The selected pieces are displayed throughout the Museum, from the three-story glass stairwell to the second-floor galleries, creating a vibrant and personal journey through the collection.

Contributors included a diverse array of voices: former curators, long-time volunteers, school groups, and even followers from social media. Each participant shared a unique perspective, offering insights into what these artworks mean to them. The selections reflect both professional and deeply personal connections to the Museum's holdings.

Together, these contributions tell a collective story of joy, curiosity, and discovery. Over four decades, the Gardiner Museum has become a space of shared learning and inspiration. This exhibition stands as a tribute to the many ways the community has engaged with the collection and continues to shape its evolving legacy.
