bG Gallery warmly invites you to immerse yourself in the reflective and introspective world of Rachel Marie. The exhibition showcases the beauty of imperfection while offering a serene space for contemplation and appreciation of the simple, profound aspects of life.

«Quiet Grounding» Rachel Marie's exploration into the serenity of natural colors and light, deeply inspired by the Japanese Wabi-Sabi philosophy of embracing beauty found in imperfection. Her process involves layering with acrylics and oil pastels on canvas, utilizing kitchen tools to create a 'sgraffito' effect revealing the enchanting imperfections beneath. Rachel Marie's self-taught artistic journey is marked by bursts of emotion, an exploration of tranquility in natural tones, and the illumination of life.

Living in Canada and Europe, self-taught artist Rachel Marie draws inspiration from a diverse background. Raised by a single mother, an educator in art and languages, Marie’s passion for artistic expression was nurtured from a young age. Her time at York University and experiences in London, Paris, and Amsterdam contributed to her artistic development. As she navigated through various phases of her life, including becoming a translator interpreter and raising a family, she discovered her true calling in abstract art, brought to the surface during the reflective period of the pandemic.
