On the 21st until the 23rd of June 2013, Agora opens its entire building and adjacent spaces with Agora Collects, a weekend-long event that bases itself on the notions of interaction, collaboration, crossovers, conviviality, by taking in consideration our mobile, nomadic mindset.

Since Agora opened its doors, in June 2011, its layout and program have been in constant flux; juxtaposing several passions under the same roof and exploring the unexpected result of these mixes and cross-overs.

In the past two years, many people and projects became active contributors of Agora. The community grew and the necessity of celebrating this net of interrelationships became imminent for our team resulting in ‘Agora Collects’. The event’s narrative leads the public to create its own routes inside the multiple spaces of Agora, establishing situations where discussions and ideas relevant to today’s context move in an event that prioritizes experimental formats of interaction with its visitors.

During ‘Agora Collects’, Agora opens all its spaces, covering an area of 750 square meters housed in a restored Alt-Bau. Throughout the weekend, over 1000 visitors will have the possibility to visit, interact and experience the elaborated program touching the fields of arts, entrepreneurship, food, education and networking.

Agora collects makers, artists, scientists, designers, philosophers, activists and entrepreneurs to activate debates on the significance of cultural centers and their relationship to social context and the relevance of transdisciplinary and collaborative processes.

Besides its full program of invited artists, speakers and performers, Agora Collects will showcase a special set of features throughout the festival. The visitors can expect a Silent Disco, a range of short theatre performances for children located inside a renovated city bus, a market space where art, furniture, clothing and books will be sold and an outdoor cinema showing a selection of short films a.o.
