Friends, patrons, colleagues and students will enter the museum to celebrate Kollwitz's 150th birthday.

These include illustrious figures such Max Liebermann, Albert Einstein, Gerhart Hauptmann and Otto Nagel as well as lesser-known individuals such as the Jewish collector Julius Freund, Kollwitz's much-admired fellow student Marianne Fiedler or the patron Hermann Reemtsma. Artworks, letters and photographs depict their relationship to Kollwitz and illustrate the significance of their friendship through all phases of life and despite diverse political views.

Above all, they demonstrate her joyful and unconditional commitment to others, beautiful stories and her ability to live life to the fullest.
