Wang Qingsong (*1966) was long regarded as the enfant terrible of contemporary Chinese art.

In his works he combines traditional techniques of Chinese painting with a deeply-rooted protest stance against all that is ‘official’.

Wang Qingsong has created the monumental work “The Great Wall?” for the MdbK, as well as a photographic response to Hans Baldung Grien’s 1544 painting “The Seven Ages of Woman” from the permanent collection.
