Thirty brings together works by Lehmann Maupin’s UK-based artists to mark the gallery’s 30th anniversary. The exhibition celebrates the longstanding relationships and sustained commitment that have shaped the gallery’s presence in the UK and its contribution to the city’s cultural landscape. Featured artists include: Rana Begum, Billy Childish, Freya Douglas-Morris, Mandy El-Sayegh, Gilbert & George, Shirazeh Houshiary, Chantal Joffe, and Do Ho Suh.
For the last three decades, Lehmann Maupin has championed artists whose practices are united by innovative approaches to their respective mediums, while also introducing international artists to new geographies, including mounting historic debut shows for its artists in the US, Asia, and Europe.
Since launching its UK outpost in 2020, Lehmann Maupin has continued to expand its presence in the region. Over the past five years, the gallery has mounted more than 30 exhibitions in London, including the UK debuts of Nari Ward, Teresita Fernández, Tammy Nguyen, Dominic Chambers, and Calida Rawles, among others. The gallery has also been instrumental in cultivating relationships with UK museums and supporting its artists’ institutional activity in the region. Recent notable museum exhibitions include Do Ho Suh: walk the house at the Tate Modern in 2025; Cecilia Vicuña's Turbine Hall commission at the Tate Modern in 2022; Kader Attia's The Museum of Emotion at the Hayward Gallery in 2019; and Gilbert & George: 21st century pictures at the Hayward Gallery in 2025.
In 2026, Lehmann Maupin marked an exciting new chapter in its longstanding relationship with London, opening a permanent space at No.9 Cork Street in Mayfair and announcing the representation of several UK-based artists, including Rana Begum and Freya Douglas-Morris. Further deepening its engagement with the city’s cultural landscape, the gallery also presented debut exhibitions for artists Anna Park and Teresa Solar Abboud in London this year. Several of the gallery’s artists are also currently featured in notable museum shows across the city, with Cecilia Vicuña: living threads on view at Whitechapel Gallery and Do Ho Suh and Suh Se Ok featured in the British Museum’s exhibition on Korea.
