JD Malat Gallery is pleased to present The shape of summer, a group exhibition bringing together a selection of artists represented by the gallery over the years. On view in the gallery’s Mayfair space until 30 June 2026, the exhibition celebrates the diversity of artistic practices that continue to shape the gallery’s international programme.

Spanning abstraction, figuration, landscape, and conceptual approaches, The shape of summer explores the emotional and visual atmosphere of the season through a wide range of artistic perspectives. Moving across different artistic languages and sensibilities, the exhibition reflects on summer not as a fixed theme but as a condition that unfolds through colour, light, rhythm, and perception. Each work contributes to a broader constellation of experiences, where personal and collective associations emerge through distinct approaches to image-making and material expression.

The exhibition moves between moments of stillness and intensity, light and shadow, intimacy and monumentality, creating a dialogue between artists whose practices are deeply rooted in materiality, gesture, and emotion. Through this interplay of contrasts and resonances, The shape of summer invites visitors to consider the season as both a visual and emotional landscape — one shaped by atmosphere, memory, and the shifting conditions through which experience takes form.
