Created from seven distinct spaces and featuring over 30 works by established and emerging artists, Ian’s rooms: behind the eyes of a collector reimagines the spirit of gallery founder Ian Rosenfeld.

Designed as a series of immersive and chronological rooms starting with his life in Italy and culminating in London - displayed through films, objects, and personal memories - the exhibition reveals how living with art became the essence of Ian’s work, reflecting a gallerist who never conformed to convention.

Visitors can expect to see spaces filled with warmth and humour, where every object has been chosen to spark joy, curiosity, and creative freedom. Old Masters and Renaissance rosenfeld sculptures are hung salon-style, alongside contemporary works and new commissions by Ndidi Emefiele, Araminta Blue and Nicola Samorì.

From a card table made from wood and bone to low-tables fitted with tribal rain drums, to the 19th-century wigstand for his Arsenal hat, each room captures the way Ian blurred boundaries between art, design, and daily life, melding the traditional with contemporary voices. Filled with books, records, and other imperfect yet beloved items, the installation celebrates the poetry of the everyday - curating joy from the unexpected.

Over the course of his lifetime, Ian Rosenfeld championed more than 50 artists and creatives, fostering a community defined by patronage, experimentation, generosity, and the belief that art should be lived with, not merely observed. The exhibition launch is supported with the creation of the Ian Rosenfeld Emerging Artist Fund, a new annual fund to support the practice of early to mid-career artists.
