Meer Instruments has completed fabricating the power system for the second flight of the CalTech Boomerang payload from McMurdo in Antarctica, which flew in the fall 2002-2003.(see Projects).
Telemetry/Shunt/GSE board wiring
Power Control Unit (PCU) during assembly. CalTech uses two separate systems: one for azimuth pointing servos (550watts) & one for instrument operation (220watts). This unit represents the fifth and final generation. A LCD which displays all telemetry outputs, similar to the unit developed for the Flare Genesis project, (18 elements of current, voltage & temperature) is in process and will be added to the existing PCU on a remote cable.
